Welcome to Kinweb

Kinweb is a collection of protein kinases encoded in the human genome.
This site provides:
  • a comprehensive analysis of functional domains of each gene product;
  • a prediction of secondary and tertiary structure motifs by using machine learning based programs;
  • a collection of conserved sequence elements identified by comparative analysis of human kinase genes and their murine counterparts, useful to the identification of additional coding sequences, such as alternatively spliced exons, or other regulatory elements.
For each kinase, GenBank RefSeq and the SwissProt entry name are available along with information about kinase classification (Hanks and Hunter classification).
A graphic browser is used to view kinase genes at various levels of magnification.

Search tips:
You can query the database by gene name. The search is case-insensitive. A gene report page will be returned.
You can also query the database by selecting a classification group or a protein domain. In both cases a list of genes will be returned.
